Federal prosecutors in Minnesota unsealed an indictment Tuesday charging 15 defendants tied to two Minneapolis-based Antifa groups with conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers and other offenses. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the case centers on efforts to block the enforcement of federal immigration law during Operation Metro Surge. That is the part the activists always leave out when they pretend this is just some harmless protest club with matching black hoodies. Homeland Security says violence will meet decisive action
DHS Special Agent in Charge Michael McCarthy said the probe uncovered organized attacks and warned that attempts to undermine federal law through violence or intimidation would be met with “DECISIVE ACTION.” That is the kind of statement Americans should hear more often from Washington, not less. When federal officers are being targeted, the response should not be lectures, excuses, or the usual activist chorus asking us to understand the feelings behind the chaos. The law is the law, and if someone wants to turn a courthouse into a street fight, they should expect a very different kind of attention from federal agents than they were hoping for.
