Navy SEALs Notch A Victory Over Biden – Judge Sides With 35 Heroes Who Claim Joe’s Mandate Is Unconstitutional

President Joe Biden has received pushback from his COVID-19 mandates from the moment they were announced. And lawsuits quickly followed.

This included one lawsuit filed by 35 active-duty Navy SEALs, who were seeking a religious exemption from the administration’s vaccine rule.

Now, a judge has sided with the plaintiffs — at least for the time being.

When these military members stood up against Biden’s mandate, a handful of Republican leaders moved to support the effort.

The SEALs are Christians and claim the vaccine rule pertaining to the military is unconstitutional. This has been a common accusation for months now.

And in this case, the judge opted to agree, and deals another blow to the enforcement of Biden’s controversial mandate.

A federal judge granted a temporary injunction Monday against a federal vaccine mandate for Navy SEALs, who sued President Biden because they were seeking a religious exemption.

Judge Reed O’Connor ruled in the U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Texas, and issued the stay.

Unsurprisingly, GOP leaders and right-wing voters are celebrating this minor victory, and they hope they’ll see more decisions like it.

As O’Connor wrote in his ruling:

The Navy service members in this case seek to vindicate the very freedoms they have sacrificed so much to protect.

The COVID-19 pandemic provides the government no license to abrogate those freedoms.

There is no COVID-19 exception to the First Amendment. There is no military exclusion from our Constitution.

The only response from the Pentagon came from spokesman John Kirby, who simply said they’re “aware of the injunction and are reviewing it.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was one of the Republicans who supported the lawsuit the instant it was filed.

And those who hold firm religious beliefs also stood up for the amicus brief, including General Counsel for First Liberty Institute Mike Berry:

Forcing a service member to choose between their faith and serving their country is abhorrent to the Constitution and America’s values.

Punishing SEALs for simply asking for a religious accommodation is purely vindictive and punitive.

We’re pleased that the court has acted to protect our brave warriors before more damage is done to our national security.

Thousands of U.S. Marines might end up being discharged for refusing to get the vaccine. The mandate has been in place since November 28.

But those who claim religious reasons cite the Constitution as reasons for abstaining, which falls in line with many who claim Biden’s mandate is a vast overreach.

Others say that the business and military mandates represent a slippery slope.

They believe that if these mandates can exist and be enforced, it opens the door to vaccine requirements for the general populace. And that would face definite criticism.
