Instead, the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America held a twisted workshop to abolish the US Constitution. They want to destroy the foundational backbone of our country. This isn’t just talk. It is a clear and present danger to your liberty.
According to reports, the group branded the Constitution as “a rationalization of a pirate kingdom.” They met at their headquarters on the Lower East Side. The walls there are red and plastered with pictures of Fidel Castro. This sets the tone for what they are trying to do.
Who is running this show? A radical author from Los Angeles led the group. His middle name is Fidel. He spent his early childhood in Kenya. He is not a conservative. He is a foe of our system.
Per reports, Boston College Law Professor Aziz Rana told the crowd of about 25 people that the Constitution pushes toward authoritarianism. He claimed the document is not compatible with “Democratic change.” Rana argues it empowers the state to engage in violence. He says rights in our system are mostly for property holders.
One attendee at the workshop repeated the group’s dark view. “Our constitution was a rationalization of a pirate kingdom,” the person said. They claimed we were essentially pirates. This is the mindset of the people trying to rewrite your government.
Here is the thing. Rana is not hiding his wealth. He lives in a $3.4 million mansion in Brookline, Massachusetts. He owns a second home in Ithaca, New York, worth over $700,000. He calls the system broken while enjoying its perks. This is the face of the “champagne socialist” movement.
The goal of this workshop was to brainstorm how to write a new Constitution. The DSA wants to abolish the US Senate. They want to get rid of the Supreme Court. They aim to end the Electoral College and the presidency itself. This is a direct attack on your vote and your voice.
The workshop invite stated that the Constitution “exacerbates some of the worst elements of American politics.” They fed the attendees a catered lunch of beef, lamb, and chicken kebabs. They ate while plotting to dismantle the rule of law. The pamphlet of the US Constitution they handed out was likely destined for the trash.
Rana’s 2024 book is called “The Constitutional Bind.” The DSA calls it a blueprint for the left to return to agitating. They want to stir up trouble. They want to replace our stable system with their radical vision. They blame a “WASP mentality” for our history. They say Europeans were meant to exploit the land and people.
