Man Loses His…Manhood After Improper Drug Use

Dr. Ruth Westheimer is probably one of the most well-known sex therapists. She’s provided individuals and couples with various pieces of advice on how to spice up their love lives. However, what one New York man tried to “perk things up”, probably was ill-advised.

This story might seem like something from a bizarre alternate reality show. However, according to New York doctors, it really happened. Reports say that a 35-year-old man, who rightfully remains anonymous, showed up at the Bronx Care Hospital Center.

He didn’t have a bump, a bruise, a gash or a broken bone. The man hadn’t been shot, stabbed, or severely beaten. What happened to him was “self-inflicted.” Most of the pain this man would experience was in his private parts.

While the pain spread to his right foot, it was mostly felt in his penis and scrotum. The man revealed a long history of intravenous drug use. Intravenous drug use is a problem in and of itself. People suffering with an addiction will do the unthinkable.

However, when you take a needle and inject cocaine into a vein in your penis, you might want to prepare for a bad outcome. That’s what happened. Evidently, his excuse was that he had run out of viable spots to shoot up.

Certainly, after what transpired, an “intervention” might be in order. What the doctors found was rather bizarre. The man’s penis was producing a “foul-smelling, serious discharge.” They discovered a condition called necrosis.

The injection of cocaine into a vein in the man’s penis was rotting its tissue. Cocaine is dangerous enough by itself. According to reports, nearly 80 percent of cocaine seized in the United States is cut with levamisole.

Levamisole is a parasitic worming treatment for animals. Much of the cocaine found in Britain is cut with the same substance. In certain extreme cases, cocaine cut with levamisole causes skin tissue to rot.

Users have reported various parts of their bodies turning black and then dying. One might think this incident would be a wake-up call to ask for help. Nevertheless, the man refused. Unfortunately, further tests will not be performed because he vanished without a trace.

Reports suggest that medical professionals should take special care in counseling active drug users “regarding possible complications of injecting drugs in atypical and dangerous injection sites.” Again, maybe a more intense focus on intervention would help as well?

This report adds an element of strange into the cunning and baffling world of addiction. It also qualifies under the cautionary category of “probably best not to try this at home,” at least not without medical supervision.
