Democrat Senator Backs Criminal Illegal Aliens, Claims They Are His ‘North Star’

There was a time in this country when elected officials grasped a simple truth: you work for the people who sent you to Washington. The voters. The taxpayers. The families are scraping by, trying to keep their neighborhoods safe and pass something worthwhile on to their grandchildren. That arrangement between citizen and representative wasn’t controversial. It was the whole point of the job.

Something has rotted in the Democrat Party, though, and the latest mess in Newark, New Jersey, has stripped away whatever thin veneer remained. Immigration enforcement is now the villain. People who broke federal law to enter this country are now the protected class. And the question every American deserves an answer to is painfully straightforward: who are these elected officials actually working for? A sitting United States senator just answered that question with breathtaking honesty — and it should make your blood boil.

From Breitbart:

Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) called for prioritizing criminal illegal migrants being held at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, New Jersey, calling them the Democrats’ “north star.”

“The detainees and their families need to be our North Star,” Kim wrote in a post on X. “We will fight to secure dignity for them because that’s who are in America.”

Let that sink in for a moment. Not the Constitution. Not the citizens of New Jersey who pay this man’s salary. Not public safety or the rule of law. No — a United States senator just announced that illegal alien detainees are his guiding light. His North Star. I genuinely had to read it twice to make sure it wasn’t satire.

Kim went further. After voluntarily inserting himself into a protest outside the Delaney Hall ICE facility — where he was pepper-sprayed, because that’s what happens when you wade into a volatile crowd surrounding a federal detention center — he demanded the facility be shut down entirely. He called it “this administration’s failure.” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin offered a more accurate description. He called the whole circus a “political stunt.” Hard to argue with that.

Who Democrats are really defending

Here’s where it gets ugly. While Kim and his Democratic colleagues deliver stirring monologues about “dignity” and “the American dream,” ICE has been posting the actual rap sheets of Delaney Hall detainees. The charges aren’t exactly jaywalking.

One detainee: battery. Another: manufacturing heroin and cocaine, possession of dangerous drugs, maintaining a dangerous drug facility. A third: selling cocaine and fraud. These aren’t people caught overstaying a tourist visa. These are convicted criminals.

Rep. Frank Pallone, another New Jersey Democrat, visited the facility and reported — with a straight face, apparently — that the detainees “always talk about how much they value the American dream.” He said they’re “shocked” to be “stripped of due process” in “the land of the free.” Heartwarming stuff. I’d love to hear whether the families destroyed by their heroin and cocaine operations feel the same sense of shock.

A party-wide problem

This isn’t one senator freelancing on social media. It’s coordinated. Rep. Rob Menendez burned fifteen hours — overnight, sleeping outside an ICE facility — trying to advocate for a single detained illegal migrant. Fifteen hours. Imagine what a congressman could accomplish for his actual constituents in that time. Governor Mikie Sherrill arrived with a full entourage of Democratic lawmakers for a theatrical “oversight visit.” Multiple elected officials posed for photos with protesters.

Those protests, by the way, weren’t peaceful vigils. Independent journalist Nick Sortor captured anti-ICE rioters setting fires in the streets near Delaney Hall. Law enforcement had to clear Antifa agitators who were stoking violence. This is what happens when powerful officials validate lawlessness. It metastasizes.

None of this is new, either. Back in 2022, Chuck Schumer openly argued that America needs mass immigration because our population “is not reproducing on its own.” The Democratic establishment has been broadcasting this message for years: American citizens aren’t sufficient. You need to be supplemented. And you should thank them for it.

The real North Star

The North Star once guided escaped slaves toward freedom. It was a symbol of liberation from genuine tyranny. Now, a Democratic senator has co-opted that image to describe his devotion to illegal aliens with rap sheets that include manufacturing heroin and selling cocaine. The contrast is grotesque.

When your senator’s guiding star points toward detained drug manufacturers instead of toward you and your family, the message is unmistakable. You’re not his priority. You never were.

Vote accordingly.

Key Takeaways

  • Sen. Kim declared illegal alien detainees — not American citizens — his party’s “North Star.”
  • ICE revealed that Delaney Hall detainees include drug manufacturers, cocaine dealers, and violent offenders.
  • Multiple New Jersey Democrats coordinated efforts to advocate for detained illegal aliens over their constituents.
  • Anti-ICE protests near the facility escalated into riots with fires and Antifa-driven violence.
