Vivek Ramaswamy Slams Biden Admin for “Highly Inappropriate” $50 Billion Chip Subsidies Push Ahead of Transition of Power
In a recent interview with Politico, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo revealed her plan to speed up the CHIPS and Science Act, allocating $50 billion in chipmaking subsidies before President-elect Donald Trump assumes office in January. This has raised red flags for Republican nominee and former President Trump’s appointee to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, Vivek Ramaswamy.
On social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, Ramaswamy shared the Politico interview, criticizing the Biden administration for accelerating spending ahead of the transition of power. He also revealed plans for the DOGE, led by himself and Elon Musk, to closely scrutinize each contract issued under the CHIPS Act and other fiscal endeavors from the Biden era, such as the Inflation Reduction Act.
Ramaswamy is not the only one concerned about this hasty allocation of funds. In the interview, Raimondo herself stated that she intends to obligate nearly all of the designated funds before Jan. 20. This rush to spend billions of taxpayer dollars has raised questions about the appropriateness and transparency of the process.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that before the awards from the Biden team, only one contract of $123 million had been granted to a single company. This sudden increase in contracts and funds being handed out in the 11th hour is highly suspicious and warrants further investigation. Ramaswamy has urged inspectors general to closely scrutinize these last-minute contracts and ensure that taxpayer money is being spent wisely.
It is clear that the main priority for the Biden administration is to push through their agenda before the transition of power. This reckless behavior shows a lack of concern for the American people and their hard-earned money. As Ramaswamy aptly put it, these subsidies are “highly inappropriate” and should not be rushed through in such a hasty manner.
The DOGE plan, led by Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, is focused on reducing unnecessary regulations and spending. Ramaswamy has also proposed that federal employees return to full-time office work, a move that would save taxpayer money and increase the efficiency of government operations.
Biden’s Commerce Secretary @SecRaimondo says Jan 20 is “a clear deadline” for pushing $$ out the door: “I’d like to have really almost all of the money obligated by the time we leave.” This is highly inappropriate: they’re accelerating spending ahead of the transition of power. https://t.co/K3igDStJXS

In the wake of these concerning developments, it is clear that the Biden administration’s actions should be closely monitored. Ramaswamy and the DOGE will continue to advocate for transparency and accountability in government spending, and it is crucial that we support their efforts to protect taxpayer dollars.
