Virginia Supreme Court Rules On Governor Order – It Just Dismissed Parent Challenge To Glenn Youngkin
What’s Happening:
Democrats were shocked when blue Virginia elected its first Republican governor in decades. The newly-installed governor has quickly gone to work, reversing the damaging policies of the previous leader. Gov. Youngkin has signed numerous orders to make good on his campaign promises. Naturally, leftists in the state are ticked off. And they tried to use the courts to undermine him.
A group of parents actually sued over a policy aimed at helping children. It’s no secret that children have received a lion’s share of hardship over the last few years. And liberals seemingly want to make it worse, with endless restrictions, rules, and mandates. Some of these mandates appear harmful to children—which is why Youngkin ended them. The case went all the way to the state Supreme Court.
And here is their verdict. From Just the News:
The Virginia Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a challenge to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s executive order to stop public schools in the commonwealth from requiring students to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19…
“We are pleased by the dismissal,” Youngkin tweeted. “We will continue to protect the rights of parents to make decisions regarding their child’s health, education, upbringing, and care.”
The Supreme Court of Virginia dismissed a challenge to the governor’s new order. The order banned forcing children to wear masks in school. You’d think parents would be happy that their children were no longer required to wear those face diapers. Yet a group of leftist Karens apparently were so upset, they wasted time and money suing the governor.
Imagine being so deranged over this issue, that you’d go to court? We don’t have to go into all the recent studies about masks—and how they can pose a problem to a child’s development. Not only that, but a state government should not supersede the decisions of a parent and a family. Over the last two years, we’ve seen Democrats try to make health decisions for us.
Sorry, but I don’t see that anywhere in the Constitution. Americans have the right to make the best decisions for their children and their families. It’s pretty odd that these pro-mask folks are fighting to force everyone to obey them. Isn’t that what some people call fascism? If they are still so afraid, why are they even taking their kids to public school at all?
Something tells me this lawsuit had more to do with politics than with helping kids. Sad.
Key Takeaways:
- Virginia’s Supreme Court ruled in favor of Gov. Youngkin’s mask ban.
- A group of parents sued to force children in school to wear masks.
