Many believe President Trump was right about the newly fashionable social media option. However, through pressure from liberal leftist activist groups, Joe Biden revoked President Trump’s order. Some consider this a mistake.
Many insist TikTok absorbs vast amounts of data from users. The direct connection to China is what alarms many experts. Zhang Yiming, TikTok’s owner, is the seventh-richest man in China. He has close ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
All Chinese businesses maintain such political suspicious ties. TikTok grew in popularity, especially with younger Americans. It’s wildly attractive, short-form user videos are a hit among teens. There are an estimated 100 million TikTok users in the United States alone.
Tech experts say that TikTok’s powerful algorithm is nothing like the technology world has ever seen. The social media platform is able to collect users face prints and exploits voice recognition software. This ability to data-harvest is what alarms many tech experts.
While most of the social media companies rely on data-harvesting, TikTok has expanded the scope of user surveillance. What troubled the Trump administration was China’s National Intelligence Law permits the CCP direct access to all data from any Chinese company.
There have already been reports of TikTok administrators being forced by the CCP to censor content. Despite cautions, TikTok has skyrocketed to become a viral sensation. Some of the more popular TikTok videos from 2021 included some rather strange material.
A few more alluring videos and celebrity cameos even made headlines. One well-known celebrity exposed their family holiday decorations to the world. Kim Kardashian’s daughter North launched a live video without her famous mom being aware of it.

It accidentally triggered a wave of public response, albeit quite unintended. It further exposed one of the huge problems TikTok detractors mention. There is such easy access for young children to access the platform. Some feel TikTok is manipulating them.
As for the strange videos, one Australian TikToker avoided a dangerous situation. While walking along the beach in Queensland, this user thought it a cute idea to pick up a strange sea critter and show it off on TikTok. Turns out the little critter packed a potentially dangerous wallop. The list of dangerous medical consequences of messing with this sea phenomenon is extensive.
