Texas Democrat Candidate Pledges First Vote to Impeach Trump, Opposes Border Walls and Supports Amnesty

The Democrat Party’s 2026 midterm strategy is crystallizing — and it has absolutely nothing to do with lowering your grocery bill, securing your neighborhood, or creating a single American job. From coast to coast, a new crop of Democratic congressional hopefuls is stepping up to the microphone. What’s coming out of their mouths should concern every voter who still believes elected officials exist to serve their constituents.

They’re not campaigning on solutions. They’re not pitching ideas. They’re running on unfinished business — old grudges, partisan scores to settle, and a vision for Congress that starts and ends with tearing down rather than building up. And they’re doing it in some of the most conservative districts in the country, which tells you this isn’t some grassroots accident. This is the national party showing its hand.

From Breitbart News:

A Democrat congressional candidate in deep East Texas said that his first vote as a U.S. Representative would be to impeach Donald Trump. The candidate also told a local ABC affiliate that he opposes border walls and would support a bill similar to an amnesty plan proposed by Congress during the Biden administration.

Democrat congressional candidate Dan Alexander told KLTV ABC7 in Tyler, Texas, that he would support an effort to impeach President Trump if he were elected to the state’s 1st Congressional District — a seat currently held by Republican Nathaniel Moran. He called the immigration enforcement policy of mass deportation “an assault on the American people.”

Go ahead and read that twice. A man running for Congress in East Texas — Trump country, heart and soul — just announced his very first act in office wouldn’t be fighting for the people who elected him. It would be launching another impeachment spectacle against a duly elected president. Not his second priority. Not a back-burner idea. His first vote.

The rest of Alexander’s platform reads like a progressive wish list that wandered very far from home. His campaign website declares that “walls don’t work.” He supports codifying abortion into federal law and champions red-flag gun restrictions. The current conflict with Iran? He calls it an “illegal war.” Enforcing immigration law through deportation? An “assault on the American people.” Somebody should remind this man which district he’s running in.

A national pattern, not a local oddity

You might be tempted to write Alexander off as a fringe candidate with zero chance. I’d urge you to think bigger. Out in Utah — another rock-solid red state — Democratic congressional candidate Michael Farrell is running on a nearly identical agenda. Farrell told the Deseret News editorial board he’s “certain” House Democrats will impeach Trump if they reclaim the majority. His top legislative priority? Abolishing ICE entirely. He described the agency as a force “poisoning” the Department of Homeland Security.

It gets better. Farrell actually dismissed the Biden-era border crisis as a “myth.” Fourteen million unauthorized immigrants documented by Pew Research in 2023 alone. Some myth. Two candidates, two deep-red states, one coordinated playbook: impeach the president, dissolve the agencies protecting American communities, and fling open the border.

The quiet part out loud

Here’s where it gets genuinely maddening. Farrell himself — the man campaigning on impeachment — admits the whole exercise is theater. His exact words: “If people donate millions of dollars and knock on doors and elect all these Democrats, and all we do is impeach Donald Trump and he’s not removed from office, nobody’s going to show up in 2028 because what is the point? We haven’t done anything.”

He knows it won’t lead to removal. He knows it’s empty calories. And he’s centering his entire campaign around it anyway. That’s not a governing philosophy. That’s a performative meltdown with a campaign logo slapped on it.

Governance versus grievance

Contrast that with the man actually holding the East Texas seat. Rep. Nathaniel Moran is focused on funding the Department of Homeland Security, backing ICE agents who defend our communities, and ensuring responsible national security spending. He called the $25 billion invested in the Iran conflict “a great investment” and emphasized Congress’s Article I role in thoughtful appropriations. Boring? Maybe. But that’s what actual public service looks like — solving problems instead of manufacturing crises.

This is the 2026 choice, stripped of all pretense. Democrats have announced — on camera, on their websites, to anyone who’ll listen — that their opening act in a new Congress would be political retribution, not public service. Every “safe” red seat that goes uncontested is a seat gifted to people whose only platform is destruction. They’ve told us exactly who they are. Time we started taking them at their word.

Key Takeaways

  • Texas Democrat Dan Alexander pledges his first congressional vote would be to impeach Trump — not serve constituents.
  • From Texas to Utah, Democratic candidates are campaigning on open borders and abolishing ICE.
  • Even pro-impeachment Democrats privately admit the strategy is performative political theater.
  • Every undefended conservative seat in 2026 risks handing the gavel to the revenge caucus.
