Supreme Court Bangs Gavel On Texas Decision – Liberals Suffer Major Setback in Trying To Ban “Heartbeat Law”

America will see many controversial topics take center-stage in 2022. Beyond inflation and the economy, issues concerning the pandemic, healthcare, election integrity, and immigration are in the spotlight.

And one particular healthcare subject is reaching a fever pitch. The abortion argument has surged to the forefront in recent months, and Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice has never been more fiery.

Now, the Supreme Court hands one side a major setback.

Ever since the “Heartbeat Law” was passed in Texas, abortion activists have been pushing to get it repealed. They claim it’s in direct violation of Roe v. Wade and should be abolished from the state.

The law bans all abortion procedures after 6 weeks. It was a bitter defeat for the Pro-Choice crowd, and they continue to fight it.

However, last month, the Supreme Court allowed the law to stay on the Texas books, though they left a slim legal path open for abortion providers.

That wasn’t good enough for pro-abortion activists, though, and they requested that the high court remand the Heartbeat Law back to a federal district court. Then they’d have another chance of defeating it.

But once again, the Supreme Court says “no.”

The Supreme Court rejected a request to remand Texas’ six-week abortion law back a federal district court Thursday, marking another setback for advocates who have been fighting to strike down the controversial measure.

Liberals just can’t seem to make any headway in taking this bill down.

On the other hand, there are millions who believe it’s a solid, moral law, and protects the rights of the unborn child. That’s why so may Conservatives wholeheartedly support the bill.

However, the court’s decision didn’t go over well with Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson, who said in a press release:

Once again the Supreme Court has betrayed the people of Texas, who have been callously stripped of their constitutional right to abortion for more than four months now.

By enabling the state’s obvious ploy to delay any resolution to this case, this Court is complicit in the widespread harm to Texans who remain unable to make meaningful decisions about their own bodies.

With no end in sight, people in Texas will continue to be forced to flee the state for essential health care — if they can — or to carry pregnancies against their will. That is inhumane.

Roe v. Wade might be considered again this year and if it’s overturned, it would return the issue to individual states.

And while we wait for that, laws like the “heartbeat bill” will continue to cause plenty of animosity and division. Whether or not it’s constitutional, and whether or not it’s amoral, are the big questions.

But no matter what happens, expect the abortion debate to rage hot and long during 2022.
