Kristi Noem, the Republican Governor of South Dakota, issued demands of President Joe Biden to call off all federal COVID-19 mandates after he put forth a statement on Monday that, “There is no federal solution,” to the whole COVID-19 pandemic.
“After a year, we finally agree @potus. The federal government isn’t the solution. That’s why from the start, SD took a different approach by trusting our citizens to be responsible and make the right decisions for themselves & their families. Now rescind all the federal mandates,” stated Noem in a tweet this past Tuesday.

The tweet came in the wake of Biden’s statements this past Monday during a virtual meeting with the governors of the country.

Previously, the governor of South Dakota issued criticism at Biden over his inane comments just before Christmas that told all unvaccinated Americans that they would be “looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”
Noem then argued, “America needs hope and leadership from Biden. Not fear and dire predictions.”
Severe illness and death? Really Mr. President? America needs hope and leadership from Biden. Not fear and dire predictions – America has met every challenge head on and with optimism for generations. Our country will get through this together. pic.twitter.com/wRDsukuke2

Noem was not by herself when she issued her call for an end to all these federal mandates. A Republican Senator of Arkansas, Tom Cotton, also stated their support for a similar conclusion to these statements from Biden.
“When Joe Biden says ‘there is no federal solution,’ he’s trying to avoid blame for his incompetence,” stated Cotton in a tweet sent out this past Monday.
“If he really believes this, he should rescind his unconstitutional federal mandates,” he stated.

“There’s no federal solution, but the fed government can help by securing the border, approving safe treatments & tests, and appointing competent leaders at the FDA & CDC,” Cotton tweeted out additionally.
“Biden opened the border, botched testing, and outsourced CDC’s guidance to the teachers’ unions,” he stated.

Chip Roy, a Republican state rep of Texas, also put forth the claim that the president “finally got something right,” sharing the contrast between the statements seen in Biden’s messages from 2020 that stated that he would “shut down the virus” with his more most recent public statements.
“There is no federal solution.” – @JoeBiden finally gets something right. Now apply that to everything else & focus on securing our border. https://t.co/bQOZsZOeOP
