Not only did “Saturday Night Live‘s” James Austin Johnson play a believable Joe Biden, but he also completely nailed Donald Trump as the “former and basically current” thin-skinned president appeared on a fake “Justice With Judge Jeanine” in the show’s opening segment.
“I just wanted to congratulate [Virginia Gov.-elect] Glenn Youngkin, and mostly myself, on a tremendous victory in Virginia,” Johnson remarked, encapsulating Trump’s unrelenting hubris, odd speech patterns, and train-of-thought circles.
“Oh we love to win, and you know what? You’re gonna see a lot more winning where that came from, let me tell you.”
Youngkin, as portrayed by Alex Moffat, requests to be removed from the split screen with “Trump,” who refuses.
“You know what? Most people don’t like Glenn, but he’s a wonderful guy, OK??” says Johnson’s Trump.
Johnson, in his most eerily similar to Trump, worries about the “PC police” canceling Christmas.
“You know what? This is true, this is true … You know, a guy came up to me the other day, big guy, bigger than anything, tears in his eyes. And he says, he said to me: ‘Sir, my name is Santa Claus, and Christmas is canceled.’ And I said, ‘We’re not going to let that happen, Santa.’ And that’s why I asked him to give Virginia to Glenn Youngkin. … Santa did it because he loves America.”
Cecily Strong cranked up her Jeanine Pirro impression of constantly being horny for Trump. She wonders how he manages to maintain all of his jumbled, meandering notions in his head.

Thin-skinned Trump will most certain have something to say, as he has repeatedly beat up on the other person who imitates him, claiming that Alec Baldwin shot “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on purpose because the actor is “a troubled guy.”
During an interview with the right-leaning “Christ Stigall Show” podcast on Thursday, Trump made the outrageous claim.
“In my opinion, he had something to do with it. But if nothing else, how do you take a gun, whether it’s loaded or not loaded, how do you take a gun, point it at somebody that’s not even in the movie, and just point it at this person and pull the trigger, and now she’s dead,” Trump said.
On Oct. 21, Hutchins died and director Joel Souza was injured on the set of the film in New Mexico. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, assistant director Dave Halls handed Baldwin a prop gun and told him it was “cold,” which is a word for a weapon that doesn’t have any live bullets.
Despite the official narrative from officials, Trump said Baldwin fired a live round because he was a “sick guy.”
“Even if it was loaded, and, you know, that’s a weird thing, maybe he loaded it,” Trump said. “If they handed me a gun, I would never point it at somebody and shoot it.”
Before Stigall concluded the interview, Trump continued to float conspiracy theories.
“He’s a troubled guy. There’s something wrong with him. I’ve watched him for years. He gets into fistfights with reporters… I mean, everything he does, he’s a volatile guy. He’s a nutjob,” Trump said.
The sheriff’s office is still looking into what happened on set, including complaints of unsafe working conditions, which the makers of “Rust” have dismissed as “patently false.”
There has been animosity between Trump and Baldwin for years, particularly over the actor’s “Saturday Night Live” impressions of The Donald. Between the 2016 presidential campaign and Trump’s loss to Joe Biden in 2020, Baldwin played Trump on the NBC late-night series.
Trump isn’t alone in his cruelty. Donald Trump Jr proved the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when just three days after the tragic incident he began selling $27.99 T-shirts on his official website with the satirical slogan, “Guns don’t kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people.” The Trump offspring also shared a manipulated image of the actor wearing one of the t-shirts on his Instagram stories.
It’s the latest, and arguably most outrageous, illustration of Trumpers ’celebration of the terrible tragedy on the set of Rust on Thursday. The alt-right has taken delight in the massacre because of Baldwin’s earlier ridicule of ex-President Donald Trump and his support for stricter gun regulation.
J.D. Vance, the author of Hillbilly Elegy and a Republican Senate candidate in Ohio, used Hutchins’ death to gain favor with Trump. Hours after the massacre, Vance posted to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, saying, “Dear @jack let Trump back on. We need Alec Baldwin tweets.” Candace Owens called the shooting “poetic justice” for Baldwin’s Trump snub.
