Nancy Pelosi’s Majority Just Disintegrated – Michigan Rep. Lawrence Becomes The 25th Democrat to Retire For ’22 Midterms

What’s Happening:

The dominos are really starting to fall. Democrats keep saying they have the 2022 midterms in the bag. Oh, really? Then why does it look like Republicans are poised to sweep the House? Signs continue to point to Republicans having a major advantage in the upcoming elections. And despite what Pelosi says, Democrats are getting nervous.

Polls suggest Democrats will face tough reelection battles. They failed to get anything done in 2021, and voters are taking notice. Elections from last November were a bloodbath for liberals. That’s not even mentioning new congressional maps in swing states, that will put pressure on Democrats. Now, Pelosi’s majority is withering away as another ally calls it quits.

From Fox News:

U.S. Rep. Brenda Lawrence, D-Mich., said Tuesday that she won’t seek reelection this November…

Lawrence is the 25th Democrat to announce retirement plans ahead of the 2022 midterms. Her decision came after the state’s new redistricting map put her hometown in U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell’s district and divided some majority Black neighborhoods in Lawrence’s district, Politico reported.

Yet another House Democrat announced she will not be running for reelection in 2022. Most of those calling it quits were long-time establishment Democrats, who have probably racked up enough clout with lobbyists to enjoy a comfy retirement. But it means Pelosi will lose yet another “safe” seat, with 25 Democrats (so far) not seeking reelection.

This puts Pelosi and the party in a tough spot. Most of the time, incumbents have an easy go at winning elections. On top of that, most of those leaving are establishment types used to towing the party line. They will most likely be replaced by radical, far-left candidates who are untested and unliked by swing district voters.

Conservative candidates will have an easier time running against these self-proclaimed socialists. All Republicans have to do is point out their extremist agenda, which includes higher taxes, more government spending, and an erasing of our values and traditions.

None of this would have happened, though, if Pelosi had stood up to the radical wing of her party. Yet time and again she bowed to the likes of AOC and Ilhan Omar, socialists that are widely hated by most voters. Outside of their deeply blue districts, candidates like that have a hard time winning races.

Meanwhile, Republicans continued to make ground in the House over the 2020 Election. Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans are raising millions and are finding new ways to connect with voters. And, as Biden keeps crashing and burning, voters will be eager to send Democrats a message.

Key Takeaways:

  • Democrat Rep. Brenda Lawrence is the 25th liberal to announce a retirement from Congress.
  • The liberal is facing a tough reelection as Michigan districts were redrawn.
  • Democrats’ House majority could be lost after the 2022 midterm elections.
