When any conservative-minded American questions the liberal left’s push for wide open borders, they get a repetitive, generic response. Questioning the open border policy of the radical left is racist. If you want a secure border, you harbor a bitter hatred for minorities.
However, according to the wife of one of the most famous fighters for ethnic equality, it’s exactly the opposite. Martin Luther King’s wife, Coretta Scott King, insists open borders and illegal immigration hurt minorities the most. King’s wife has never wavered in her convictions.
In 1991, she protested against illegal migration. Mrs. King insisted it hurt the black worker. She’s correct. After she took over her husband’s ministry upon his assassination, she was a champion for the black worker. In a 1991 letter, King and her supporters petitioned Senator Orrin Hatch.
They were adamantly opposed to legislation that would have erased penalties for hiring illegal migrants. The letter maintained the law would cause irreparable harm to members of minority communities. Illegal aliens steal jobs from America’s minority class more than any other.
“We, the undersigned members of the Black Leadership Forum, write to urge you to postpone introduction of your employer sanctions repeal legislation until we have had an opportunity to report to you what we believe to be the devastating impact the repeal would have on the economic condition of un- and semi-skilled workers—a disproportionate number of whom are African-American and Hispanic; and until we have had the opportunity to propose to you and to our Hispanic brothers and sisters, what we believe could be a number of effective means of eliminating the discrimination occasioned by employer sanctions, without losing the protection sanctions provide for U.S. workers, especially minority workers.”
King stressed, “This would undoubtedly exacerbate an already severe economic crisis in communities where there are large numbers of new immigrants.” A reversal of employer sanctions for hiring illegal migrants is in fact discriminatory. Open borders are discriminatory.
Joe Biden’s inept border policy allows millions of illegal migrants to flood into the United States. Black and brown Americans are the ones who suffer the most. Open border policy, despite the liberal left’s claim as otherwise racist, are the most discriminatory border policy.
While open borders allow millions of undocumented people to flood our job market, they also spew deadly illegal drugs into our communities. Open borders, the obvious policy of the Biden administration, destroy the fabric of American democracy.
Americans are less safe and illegal workers gouge the job market. These horrible policies are killing our children and destroying our communities. However, according to a well-respected woman of color, they are devastating to our minorities.
Black and brown Americans, long assumed to be beholden to the Democrat Party, need to see the truth. Democrats do not care about them. All the liberal left does is make idle promises to America’s minorities. Then, when it matters, they advocate policies which destroy them.
As more black and Hispanic voters drift away from the Democrat Party, there’s a sense they’re waking up to this reality. Liberals are not the party of the working class. Contrarily, they are the party of the wealthy elites. Just look at the illegal migrant policy at our southern border for proof.
