If you think your decisions about what you eat are personal, think again. Like most everything in today’s “spy-happy society”, companies are now scouring the social media news feeds to target trends. Fast-food chains are evidently keeping some kind of database about order combinations.
We suppose there’s nothing too nefarious about all this, but it still seems a little strange. But you might be surprised at how chains such as McDonald’s are using these trends. The formidable hamburger giant has used order statistics to compile menu items called “hacks”.
If you’ve satisfied your breakfast pallet with an Egg McMuffin and hash browns, now you can get the combination in one easy-to gobble-sandwich. Yes folks, it’s a new item on the McDonald’s breakfast menu. It’s called the “Hash Brown McMuffin”.
Now, the next “hack” menu item seems to take the idea to another level of odd. It’s probably not uncommon to order a cheeseburger with Chicken McNuggets. Well, fast food fanatics, now you can save the trouble of two boxes by ordering McDonald’s new Crunchy Double.
Your fast food fry cook will slam six tasty little chicken nuggets in the middle of your double cheeseburger. There are also some special “Surf and Turf” delights. McDonald’s has heard the cry to incorporate a handy combination of beef, bird and waterfowl.
The “Land, Air, and Sea” burger choice gets you one bun filled with chicken, a Big Mac, and a slice of Filet-O-Fish. The “Surf and Turf” selection removes the chicken from this delightful combination. McDonald’s patrons can order these tasty, however odd, combinations by name.
Now, you can enjoy these delicious “hacks” at most neighborhood McDonald’s. However, don’t forget a mask. While they’ve listened to their customer’s menu choices, McDonald’s is requiring a mask for everyone, vaccinated or not. Wonder if we can get our mask with fries?
