Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Wednesday that his office is launching an investigation into former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci over his conduct during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a post on social media, Uthmeier responded to Fauci’s Wednesday appearance before Congress, where Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right and declined to answer lawmakers’ questions.

The man who spent four years as America’s self-appointed oracle of science — who told 330 million people exactly how to live, where to stand, and what to strap across their faces — parked himself before the United States Senate on Wednesday and went mute. Let’s be clear about something: this isn’t revenge. It’s a basic constitutional expectation. Nobody — not even a man carrying a presidential pardon in his breast pocket — gets to operate above accountability in a republic.
