Frequently, during this time of irrational assaults on American freedoms, constitutional conservatives must continually stand up for themselves. One person who refuses to back down is Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.
Brnovich has found himself in the crosshairs of the fake news media over election fraud, the border crisis, and now COVID vaccine mandates. During a live video of a press conference posted by AZfamily.com, Brnovich flipped the script on one reporter’s ill-advised inquiry.
Brnovich held a press conference to answer questions about a lawsuit being coordinated by his office. The Arizona Attorney General is supporting law enforcement and firefighters in the City of Phoenix in their resistance to being forced to get the COVID vaccine.
These critical workers, dedicated first-responders who help keep Phoenix residents safe, are being targeted by a tyrannical vaccine mandate. Like millions of Americans, even those who have been vaccinated, Brnovich feels vaccine mandates are an invasion of personal privacy.
During the press conference, the Arizona Family editor hurled a question at Brnovich. The initial reaction from the AG’s team was to discount the question as inappropriate and not answer. The question didn’t faze the confidently outspoken Brnovich.
Dennis Welch asked Brnovich if he’d received a COVID vaccination. The prospective U.S. Senator, up for nomination for an Arizona U.S. Senate seat in 2022, spun around and smiled back at the nosy reporter. Brnovich’s reply was pinpoint on target.
He asked Welch, “Do you have an STD?” If not for the noisy press conference environment, we’re sure there would have been a number of surprised gasps. However, there was a brief moment of uncomfortable silence, followed by a few chuckles.
In that instant, Brnovich was ready to ardently defend his question. Brnovich insisted that he was totally serious. He was not joking. The U.S. Senate prospect explained his stance. Brnovich asked at what point we will stop the federal government’s overreach into our personal lives.
Brnovich made his connection between an STD outbreak in the 1970s, and questioning an American’s vaccine status. He sees no difference between the two. Brnovich asserted that no one would advocate the federal government snooping into our sexual activities.
He vehemently said that there is no difference between the two examples. Hundreds of Arizona police officers, firefighters, and first responders share Brnovich’s opinion. Firefighter and police officials say that Phoenix cannot handle any loss of manpower because of a mandate.
The Vice President of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, Yvette Bro, said, “We had a survey a few months ago, and it was overwhelming. We had over 600 members that said they would leave if they were forced to get the vaccine.”
Phoenix has already lost over 600 officers across the last decade. With over 200 positions on the force currently not filled, police officials believe the problem will be magnified if a vaccine mandate is upheld.
Brnovich has the support of members on Phoenix’s City Council. After Phoenix City Manager, Jeff Barton, decided to implement the mandate, council members forced Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego to hold a vote to stop it.
City council member Ann O’Brien, said, “This mandate is incredibly problematic because of its negative effects on city staffing and how it will affect the way city services are delivered to our community — particularly with our police officers and firefighters.”
Like millions of people across the country, these individuals understand what such a health mandate means. Collectively, they all insist that any vaccine mandate by Joe Biden and the federal government is unconstitutional.
They are an overreach of government power into American citizens’ personal lives. Joe Biden’s senseless vaccine mandates are facing a number of lawsuits from various states and businesses. Rightfully, virtually every court has issued an injunction halting them.
One court is questioning the authority of the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) to issue a mandate across the nation. Other temporary injunctions blocking the order are helping healthcare workers avoid this tyrannical invasion of personal privacy.
It’s no-nonsense public servants like Mark Brnovich who are leading the stand against these unconstitutional mandates. Early polling in Arizona shows that Arizona voters support such a pushback.
Currently, Brnovich has a double-digit lead over his closest Republican opposition for a spot on the ballot in November 2022. If Brnovich continues to flip the script on reporters who pose loaded questions, he’ll be a welcome addition to the Republican caucus on Capitol Hill.
