Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked a photo of Lauren Boebert’s family carrying weapons under a Christmas tree that was posted on Twitter by the Republican congressman.
Representative Boebert of Colorado, a well-known gun rights champion, captioned a photo of her four children clutching assault guns, “The Boeberts have your six, @RepThomasMassie!” and added, “no spare ammo for you though.”

Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), a fellow Second Amendment supporter, posted a similar image on December 4 in which the congressman is shown with his family, all of whom are brandishing guns.
His tweet asked Santa Claus to “please bring ammo,” which spurred a retweet from Boebert and her message that it was “[her] kind of Christmas card!”

Boebert’s tweet was met with backlash on social media, with some calling it callous in the wake of the Oxford High School massacre, which killed four students and injured seven more.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez took a more satirical stab at Boebert, tweeting, “tell me again where Christ said, ‘use the commemoration of my birth to flex violent weapons for personal political gain?’”

lol @ all the years Republicans spent on cultural hysteria of society “erasing Christmas and it’s meaning” when they’re doing that fine all on their own https://t.co/TOKE1SmY4C

She then added, “lol @ all the years Republicans spent on cultural hysteria of society ‘erasing Christmas and its meaning’ when they’re doing that fine all on their own.” Her tweet has had nearly 200,000 likes so far.
“When you pose in front of a Christmas Tree and can name all those guns but can’t name the gifts of the Wise Men,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Ocasi0- Cortez’s remarks are the most recent attack on Boebert’s family portrait.
The leftist PAC MeidasTouch tweeted that the “deranged” photo of Boebert and her children “carrying weapons of war” will not be posted.

It then listed the teenagers killed at Oxford, tweeting, “instead, let’s honor the teens who were murdered due to this fetishization of guns.”
“This is a tragedy waiting to happen, and we should all be concerned for the Boebert kids. This photo is exactly why we must keep fighting for stronger gun laws,” wrote Gun violence prevention activist, Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action.

“This photo is exactly why we must keep fighting for stronger gun laws,” she added.
“I heard four young kids were gunned down this week, so here is a photo of my kids with their guns just to say f*ck you to their memories. Sincerely, Lauren Boebert,” tweeted Democratic congressional candidate for California, Bruno Amato.

Boebert’s committee assignments have been revoked, according to Ocasio-Cortez and other lawmakers.
It comes after Boebert made anti-Muslim remarks about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), whom she has referred to as a part of the “jihad squad.”
