After Whoopi Slips Up On The Holocaust – 88-Year-Old Survivor Takes It To Her And She Apologizes

What’s Happening:

Despite the obvious, there are still Americans who watch ABC’s “The View.” This talk show features a panel of far-left celebrities who spend most of their time complaining about conservatives. Very often, they get themselves into trouble with some of the wildly uninformed statements they make.

But this time, it wasn’t Joy Behar insulting America. It was award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg. We’re not sure why Whoopi left acting to complain about politics, but she’s better off avoiding it. Because recently, she said the Holocaust wasn’t “about race.” An 88-year-old survivor begged to differ.

From Daily Wire:

[A] an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor tweeted a message to “The View” challenging them to have her on the show.

Lucy Lipiner tweeted, “Hi @TheView, I am a Holocaust survivor in NYC. I might be 88-years-old but I have the energy to come on your show and talk to @WhoopiGoldberg and all the girls about the Holocaust. I think we can have a meaningful conversation together and heal wounds. DM me! Love, Lucy.”

The tweet got 15,000 likes and thousands of retweets. Clearly, Americans were waiting for a response from Whoopi. We don’t know if Mrs. Lipiner will show up on The View, but Goldberg is backtracking.

From Daily Caller:

“On today’s show, I said the Holocaust ‘is not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man,’” Goldberg posted to Twitter. “I should have said it is about both. As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systemic annihilation of the Jewish people — who they deemed to be an inferior race.’ I stand corrected.”

“The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver,” Goldberg said. “I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused. Written with my sincerest apologies.”

Whoopi Goldberg posted an apology on her Twitter account after word spread about her comments about the Holocaust. Her original comments appeared flippant and uncaring, stating it was just about “two white groups of people,” so in her mind, it couldn’t have been about race. It seems she might have been demeaning a horrible period in human history when millions of Jews were murdered.

But it appears she was willing to correct her statement after a member of the Anti-Defamation League corrected her. He rightly stated the Holocaust was the result of the Nazi’s attempts to wipe out the Jewish people, “who they deemed to be an inferior race.”

Any child who learned about the Holocaust knows this. The Nazis were unapologetic about their hatred for the Jewish race. It’s hard to imagine why Whoopi would say what she originally said. Perhaps she has spent too much time listening to far-left radicals from BLM?

Goldberg, however, sounded sincere in her apology. She vowed that the Jewish people “always had my support.” It remains to be seen if this apology will be enough to keep the cancel culture vultures at bay. Many celebrities have been slandered and shut out after saying the wrong things online. But often, they say something that insults the far-left, so Whoopi might be fine.

It would be great, however, if The View invites Mrs. Lipiner to appear.

Key Takeaways:

  • Whoopi Goldberg claimed the Holocaust was not about “race.”
  • She was called out by an 88-year-old survivor, who was willing to appear on The View.
  • Goldberg later apologized on her Twitter account, stating she was wrong.
