Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has established himself as one of Hollywood’s hardest-working stars in recent years, starring in a number of films and television shows.
He also works with a number of charities and enjoys doing things that make his most loyal followers happy.
Many people have viewed Johnson as a good fit for the presidency because of his down-to-earth demeanor and charm, with one poll finding that 46 percent of Americans would be interested in seeing him in the White House, according to Vanity Fair.
Johnson expressed some hesitancy about running for president in the same Vanity Fair interview, but he hasn’t ruled it out entirely. Johnson’s popularity doesn’t appear to be waning any time soon.
Johnson received the People’s Champion Award at the People’s Choice Awards on December 7, celebrating his work with fans and his goodwill throughout his career.
In fact, after his statement, in which he praised Muhammad Ali, the original “People’s Champion,” for allowing Johnson to use the moniker, Johnson requested a Make-A-Wish winner to join him on stage, demonstrating how much he deserved the prize.
According to E! News, Johnson said a few words about her, referring to her simply as Shushana. Johnson remarked that meeting Shushana motivated him, and he presented her with his medal as a result.
However, some fans believe Johnson’s political career may have already been damaged at the PCAs on December 7, and it’s all because of this unexpected friendship.
The presenter who introduced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s People’s Champion award, Jeff Bezos, was one of the more surprising aspects of the 2021 People’s Choice Awards.
The Amazon founder and billionaire showed up unannounced at the show to brag about “his friend” Johnson and the compassion he has given throughout his career – an irony that wasn’t lost on some viewers.
One commenter remarked, “The irony of Jeff Bezos boasting about how generous the Rock is when Bezos is actually sucking his employees dry.” Others were somewhat aback when Johnson referred to Bezos as his tequila friend.
Another wrote, “Nothing makes sense anymore.”
Although Bezos and Johnson’s friendship is genuine, some fans mistook the Amazon CEO’s introduction of The Rock as an indication that the two are planning to run for office together, which did not go down well. “@TheRock after tonight! You will NEVER GET MY VOTE!!!” one passionate user tweeted.
“Jeff Bezos on this award show is the most uncanny valley sh*t I’ve ever seen. Is he going to try and run for President with The Rock as his VP. I think he is,” another wrote. Whether Johnson plans to actually run for office remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure if he does he will make things interesting, to say the least.
