On a recent airport encounter, California Congressman Adam Schiff had an unpleasant exchange with a constituent that highlighted the growing frustration with the Democrat’s actions. Alex Bruesewitz, a pro-Trump operative, approached Rep. Schiff while he waited to board an airplane and confronted him about his “habitual lying” to the American people.
In the video captured by a bystander, Bruesewitz can be heard saying, “I think that you should be ashamed of yourself for how often you lie to the American people.” The exchange only lasted a few seconds, with Rep. Schiff simply nodding along before saying, “Nice to meet you.” However, Bruesewitz wasn’t done yet.
“I hope you lose your Senate race which it’s looking like you will, and I hope you retire from American politics because you’re a sick man,” Bruesewitz added before ending the conversation with a final “thank you.”
In a follow-up post, Bruesewitz stated that Schiff “should’ve been expelled from Congress a long time ago.” The pro-Trump operative also criticized Schiff for his role in sending out dozens of subpoenas during the Democrats’ investigation into the January 6th Capitol breach. Bruesewitz called these subpoenas “BS” and accused Schiff of using them to personally enrich himself and gain political notoriety.
Schiff, who previously chaired the powerful Judiciary Committee from 2019 to 2022, recently joined 24 Democratic House colleagues in signing an open letter addressing alleged anti-Semitic content on Elon Musk’s X platform. The coalition accused Musk of profiting off this content and demanded that he produce records about X’s content moderation practices.
Just ran into @AdamSchiff at the airport. I told him that he should retire from American politics for good once he loses his senate race because he’s a sick man who constantly lies to the American people.
As you can see in the video I’m very kind and respectful! pic.twitter.com/PMdBB1Znfy

In November, Pelosi gave a speech praising Schiff as a man “synonymous with courage,” reflecting Democrats’ view of their campaign against activities protected by the First Amendment. However, Musk has pushed back against accusations of racism and challenged journalists to provide any evidence of such behavior on his platform.
This recent encounter with Bruesewitz only adds to the growing criticism against Schiff’s actions as a politician. The frustration with his alleged “lying” and unethical practices seems to be reaching a boiling point, as seen in Bruesewitz’s bold confrontation. It remains to be seen how these developments will affect Schiff’s Senate campaign and his reputation in the eyes of the American people.
In response to the airport encounter, a spokesperson for Schiff stated, “The congressman is always willing to engage in productive and respectful dialogue with constituents, regardless of their political views.” However, it’s clear that constituents like Bruesewitz are not satisfied with mere dialogue and are becoming increasingly vocal in their disapproval of Schiff’s actions. As the 2022 midterm elections approach, it will be interesting to see how this tension affects the political landscape and if Schiff will address the growing criticism against him.
