A newly-released FBI document paints a disturbing picture of the extent of then-Vice-President Joe Biden’s alleged involvement in a multimillion-dollar bribery scandal involving a Ukrainian energy company.
The “FD-1023” document details a conversation between a confidential human source (CHS) and Burisma executives who reportedly described a $10 million bribery scheme to enrich both Joe and Hunter Biden, the VP’s son. According to the CHS’s account, the Burisma leadership cited Hunter’s ability “to protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems.”
The scheme was allegedly purposely designed to be difficult to trace, with the funds sent through a series of companies and bank accounts to the Bidens. House Oversight Committee Republicans have provided bank records showing millions of dollars in foreign (largely Chinese) money flowing to nine different Biden family members through an intricate series of shell corporations.
The FD-1023 documents assert that the scheme also tied directly into VP Biden’s Ukraine policy. The CHS reported that the Burisma founder claimed to have been “pressured” by Biden to put Hunter on the companies’ board and for the bribery to be paid in exchange for the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma. This same prosecutor was, in fact, fired after Vice President Biden explicitly linked the firing to the unlocking of $1 billion of US taxpayer aid.
The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland noted that this account contradicts Biden’s explanation for the firing. Following the sources’ interview with the CHS, the Pittsburgh FBI office obtained travel records for them that reportedly confirmed the fact that they had been to the relevant locations in the given time period. The CHS’s handler also corroborated the CHS’s claim that he had met with Oleksandr Ostapenko.

Despite the significant revelations, the IRS whistleblowers testifying before Congress last week said that they had never even heard of the FD-1023 or its explosive allegations during their investigations. Additionally, a source familiar with the briefing said that the Pittsburgh FBI agents had told the Delaware office they had corroborated multiple facts included in the FD-1023 — but the Delaware office’s subsequent actions appear to have ignored the allegations.
Furthermore, Biden family business associate Devon Archer is expected to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee this week that he had witnessed Hunter dialing in his father on speakerphone to meetings with foreign business partners — including one in Dubai in 2015 when Hunter and Archer were joined at the Four Seasons bar by two Ukrainians who asked for Joe Biden to be introduced to them as a show of ‘support.’
Joe Biden has indignantly denied any knowledge, conversations, or involvement in Hunter’s overseas business dealings — but with Archer’s testimony, his claims are looking more and more suspect every day. Republicans are now determined to get to the bottom of what appears to be a deeply troubling, untraceable pay-for-play scheme orchestrated by both the Bidens. And the American public no less deserves to know the truth.
