Hunter Biden’s Days Are Numbered, Just Ask the Special Counsel – Watch

In a major development, Special Counsel David Weiss has informed a federal judge that he intends to seek an indictment against Hunter Biden by the end of September. The indictment would be related to tax offenses and a felony firearm charge.

“The Speedy Trial Act requires that the Government obtain the return of an indictment by a grand jury by Friday, September 29, 2023, at the earliest,” Weiss said in the filing. “The Government intends to seek the return of an indictment in this case before that date.”

This is all very interesting  because Weiss, before he was appointed as special counsel in the case, was originally willing to “to forgo any prosecution of” Hunter Biden and was close “to agreeing to end the investigation without requiring a guilty plea on any charges,” according to The New York Times.

And the news comes after a tentative plea deal between the government and Hunter Biden’s attorneys fell apart this summer. The deal would have required Hunter Biden to acknowledge his failure to pay taxes on income he received in 2017 and 2018, and to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possessing a gun while using drugs.

However, the deal collapsed after Hunter Biden’s attorneys refused to agree to a provision that would have required him to cooperate with the government’s investigation into his business dealings in Ukraine and China.

Chris Clark, a lawyer for Hunter Biden, threatened prosecutors investigating his client that if his client was charged in the case, the defense would call President Joe Biden to testify, thus creating a constitutional crisis by pitting the president against his own Department of Justice, POLITICO reported.

“President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial,” Clark said in a lengthy letter to prosecutors, later adding: “This of all cases justifies neither the spectacle of a sitting President testifying at a criminal trial nor the potential for a resulting Constitutional crisis.”
