There are a bunch of twisted people in the world. Frequently, twisted people do twisted things. Invariably, these types of strange personality types enjoy attention. They’re starved for attention. Often, they’ll do terrible things to garner it.
Sometimes these bizarre personality characteristics seem to be hereditary. Strangeness runs in the family, so to speak. One such family captured the national spotlight a few years ago. Casey Anthony’s little two-year-old daughter Caylee went missing in 2008. She was later found dead.
It was a tragedy. No family should endure the death of a child, especially one under such horrific circumstances. The cause of death was never confirmed. The two-year-old was discovered in the woods, but defense attorneys said she drowned in an effort to exonerate their client.
This tragic story evolved into one of accusations and disturbing circumstances. There were dozens of twisted stories about what happened to the poor little girl. Casey Anthony was charged, but acquitted of murdering her daughter. She’s continued to claim her innocence.
Anthony served four years for providing false information to investigators. Well, in a new Peacock docuseries, Anthony is offering some startling facts about what might have really happened to her daughter.
The three-part series, “Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies,” is the first in-depth, on-camera interview of Casey. The series director is Alexandra Dean. Dean believes what was gained from six months of interviews will “cause the American public to look at this story in a new light.”
Dean said, “While having access to Casey was critical, it was even more important that we had complete editorial control over the outcome of the reporting we did. Casey did not see or give notes on the film.”
But the series reveals something even more startling than anyone might have expected. Casey Anthony believes her own father had something to do with Caylee’s death. Anthony claims that she was horribly abused as a child.
She claims that “He’d put a pillow over my face and smother me to knock me out. That happened several times. I’m sure there were times where I was incapacitated as a child where my body was limp and lifeless.”
Anthony believes the same thing may have happened to her daughter. “That’s what I think about. I wish every day I had said something to someone about something. Maybe then things would be different.” This was a bizarre case that gripped the country for months.
It appears the drama may not be over. We hope Casey Anthony isn’t fabricating a story to sell books and TV time. Twisted people have a thirst for attention. If there is any substance to Anthony’s claims, we can only hope, in little Caylee’s memory, justice is finally served.
