Arkansas Governor Removes ‘Woke’ Language from Government Documents

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed an executive order eliminating “woke” language from government documents.

“The science is clear and real; [t]here are things only women can do, like perform the miracle of birth,” Sanders wrote in the executive order reported first by Fox News Digital. “Government should reject language that ignores, undermines, and erases women; Government should celebrate gender distinctions between men and women – not erase them.”

Sanders, at the age of 41, became the first female elected as the governor of Arkansas this year. She enacted the order as radical left-wing ideology pushing “culturally conscious” or “inclusive” language continues to subvert state governments and American institutions nationwide.

The state’s health department reportedly published a memo describing small per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) negatively affecting “pregnant people.” But under Sanders’ new order, state officials must use terms specific to women, such as “pregnant women” or “pregnant mom.”

Such terms are included in “banning a number of all sorts of ridiculous words from state government documents,” Sanders said.

“We are all here to say enough,” she added. “Enough trying to erase women and girls. Enough denying our biological differences from men. Enough of the craziness taking over our country.”

“They’re using nonsense words to erase women and girls – and more importantly, to erase our voices and experiences,” Sanders said. “Today, we’re taking a stand against woke nonsense … It’s the Left that decided that woman is a dirty word. It’s the Left that decided that we needed to toss out basic biology – and basic grammar along with it.”

Arkansas Surgeon General Dr. Kay Chandler reportedly called the order “just common sense.”

“Our governor won’t let political correctness get in the way of science,” Chandler said.

“Ethnically insensitive and pejorative language has no place in official government documents or government employee titles,” Sanders’ executive order stated. “The government has a responsibility to respect its citizens and use ethnically appropriate language, particularly when referring to ethnic minorities.”
