The liberal elites of Hollywood have been losing their minds in the weeks since Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential race. Heading into Election Day, they thought that there was no way that Trump could defeat their beloved Kamala Harris.
Much to Democrats’ shock and horror, however, Trump trounced Harris not only in the Electoral College, but also in the popular vote. This was a clear referendum on the woke Democratic Party and everything that they stand for.
Prior to the election, many leftwing Hollywood stars pledged to leave the U.S. if Trump won back the presidency. Sadly, the vast majority of them haven’t followed through with these promises.
Now, however, one liberal star has confirmed that he will be moving out of the U.S. by Thanksgiving. That celebrity is the Pretty Woman star Richard Gere, who is preparing to move to Spain with his wife and son before Trump can take office.
From Daily Mail:
Richard Gere is set to relocate to Spain with his wife, Alejandra Silva, and family after years of living in the United States. The Pretty Woman actor, 75, revealed that he would be out of the country and in the Spanish capital of Madrid in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with Alejandra’s loved ones.Sharing the major move on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Richard began by joking: ‘My wife is Spanish. Is this a problem for anybody out there?’
He then announced: ‘But my wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid. Our kids are bilingual so they’re going to flourish there.’

Though Gere didn’t mention Trump by name, the timing of this move combined with the actor’s history of radically liberal activism indicates that the election results definitely played a role in his decision to leave the country.

Gere Isn’t The Only Star Fleeing Trump’s America
Gere is far from the only celebrity who is leaving the U.S. in the wake of the election. The former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres wasted no time in fleeing America after Trump’s victory. Indeed, DeGeneres has already relocated to England with her wife Portia de Rossi. Sources claim that the two women felt “very disillusioned” by Trump’s win. In fact, they were so upset that they decided “to get the hell out” of America immediately.

Other A-list celebrities like Cher, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone and Sophie Turner had also promised to flee the U.S. if Trump won. Unlike with Gere and DeGeneres, however, there’s sadly no indication that they’re actually following through.
The liberal elites of Hollywood can’t stand Trump because he doesn’t cater to them in the way that a Democrat like Harris would. Indeed, Trump doesn’t care what wealthy liberal elites like Gere and DeGeneres think about him. Instead, he’s a president for working-class Americans who simply want better lives for their families.
In the end, we have no problem with Hollywood stars like Gere and DeGeneres fleeing America. If more celebrities actually followed through with their promises to leave the country over Trump winning, we’d all be better off!
