According to an official who assisted with the searches, federal, state, and local authorities searched the homes of Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters and three of her associates on Tuesday as part of an investigation into allegations the elected official was involved in voting machine security breaches.
The FBI searched Peters’ home in Mesa County early Tuesday morning, leaving her “terrified,” she said Tuesday night on Lindell TV, an internet channel sponsored by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a Trump supporter and proponent of unproven claims that the 2020 election was rigged.
“We executed four federally court-authorized operations today to gather evidence in connection with the investigation into the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder’s Office,” District Attorney Dan Rubinstein told Colorado Politics. “We did so with assistance from the DA’s office from the 21st Judicial District, the Attorney General’s Office, and the FBI.”
He also mentioned that one of the searches took place in nearby Garfield County.

Sherronna Bishop, a Garfield County resident, and former campaign manager for U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert was one of the homes raided by law officials, according to Lindell.
In a judgment on a case filed by Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Peters, a Republican serving her first term as the Western Slope county’s chief elections officer, was barred from overseeing the county’s election last month by a Mesa County judge.

Peters and her deputy, according to Griswold, were complicit in an election security breach when they permitted an unauthorized person to partake in a routine upgrade of the county voting system software and then lied about it as part of a conspiracy to reveal suspected election irregularities.
After system credentials were revealed in a video released to right-wing websites in August, Griswold ordered Mesa County to repair its voting equipment. After Griswold’s employees realized that the election equipment’s 24-hour video surveillance had been turned off, exact digital copies of the county’s election system hard drive were put online a few days later.
I almost feel sorry for Janet Rowland. She was a huge supporter of Tina Peters, and now it has come back to bite her. At least she is telling the people who elected her about reality, I don’t think they are listening however. #copolitics https://t.co/Fb0cWLTCIo

A request for comment from the FBI’s Denver office was not immediately returned.
The state attorney general’s office had no comment, according to a spokesman.
The FBI raided my home at 6 a.m. this morning, accusing me of committing a crime,” Peters said on the Lindell channel. “And they raided the homes of my friends, mostly older women. I was terrified.”
She then added that authorities “used a battering ram,” destroying the front door of one of her friends’ homes.
Peters said authorities searched her house for “about three hours” and “took all of my electronics,” including her phone.
“Essentially, they were soldiers in combat gear. They were not men in suits with badges,” Peters said. “They looked very much like they were in a combat zone — soldiers with automatic weapons and combat gear.”

Despite failing to present any evidence that the 2020 election was rigged, Peters has maintained that she is on a quest to find proof. According to an audit undertaken by the Arizona Senate investigating charges of election fraud in the state’s largest county, Democrat Joe Biden, who carried the state, earned more votes than the official tally indicated.
In August, Peters attended a conference in South Dakota hosted by Lindell, who later claimed he was assisting in keeping Peters safe in several locales, including a Texas motel, until late September, when Peters returned to Mesa County.
Good! Let them all start panicking. This isn’t a joke. Tina Peters and Sherronna Bishop are being investigated for an alleged election system breach in Mesa County.

The Independent Ethics Commission of Colorado began an investigation into a complaint against Peters on Tuesday. According to the accusation, Peters broke a state constitutional gift ban by accepting Lindell’s flights on a private plane and other travel expenditures.
“I refuse to give up,” Peters said Tuesday on Lindell’s show. “I am more scared than ever for my life, but courage is the key when you do something in spite of fear.”

“I feel that if I was to give up now, I would be giving up on our country. You do the right thing and you see your government come down on you like that, this is the worse nightmare you can imagine,” she added.
According to Peters, the government is attempting to frighten her and others.
“They want to shut me up, shut me out, prosecute me, do whatever they can to villainize and demonize me just to cover up their dirty deeds,” she said, adding, “I can’t unsee what I’ve seen.”
