Jerry Seinfeld has never been known for tailoring his opinions to whatever happens to be fashionable at the moment, and a brief encounter with a social media influencer this week showed that nothing has changed.
The comedian delivered a short but unmistakable response after being approached by streamer Finesse Fave, who asked him to say “free Palestine” during a filmed interaction that was later posted to TikTok.
“What up Seinfeld, what up? Can we get a ‘free Palestine?’” the influencer asked as the comedian smiled and laughed.
“Come on, give us one ‘free Palestine.’”
Seinfeld’s reply was immediate.
“It doesn’t exist.”
The exchange lasted only a few seconds, but it quickly spread across social media, adding to a growing list of public moments in which the legendary comedian has rejected anti-Israel activism and criticism directed at the Jewish state.
The comedian has been remarkably consistent on the issue since Hamas launched its Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack against Israel. While many celebrities have either avoided the topic entirely or issued carefully crafted statements, Seinfeld has repeatedly taken public positions that leave little doubt about where he stands.
That includes an incident outside Madison Square Garden in May, when anti-Israel protesters confronted him after a New York Knicks game.
Video posted online showed Seinfeld walking toward his vehicle while a protester shouted insults and accused him of supporting “the genocide of babies in Gaza.”
“F— you, Jerry Seinfeld! Free Palestine!” the protester yelled.
Rather than engage in an argument, Seinfeld appeared amused by the outburst, laughing as he continued on his way.
His sharpest comments may have come during an appearance at Duke University in September. Seinfeld attended an event honoring Omer Shem Tov, an Israeli hostage who had been kidnapped during the Oct. 7 attacks and held captive by Hamas for more than 500 days.
During his remarks, Seinfeld criticized the “free Palestine” movement and argued that many activists were masking hostility toward Jews behind political slogans.
“Free Palestine is, to me, just — you’re free to say you don’t like Jews. Just say you don’t like Jews,” Seinfeld told the audience.
He went even further, arguing that at least openly racist groups historically made their views explicit rather than disguising them behind broader political messaging.
The comedian has also shown little interest in conforming to prevailing trends outside of politics. In a recent interview with AirMail, Seinfeld dismissed electric vehicles as what he called a “big, stupid virtue signal.”
“I’m not interested in electric cars at all,” he said. “Anybody else wants to do it, that’s fine.”
The lifelong car enthusiast, whose collection includes numerous rare and valuable Porsches, expressed skepticism about claims surrounding electric vehicles while joking that future generations may view human-operated automobiles as relics of a less safe era.
