Officials at the Doss Elementary School in Texas have found themselves in hot water after they were caught coercing children from discussing Pride Week celebrations at the school.
As part of the celebration, the school held “community circles” for K-5 graders and one of the rules was students are forbidden to tell parents what was discussed.

The rule also violates Texas law stating that a parent has the “right to full information concerning a student.” In Texas, parents are legally entitled to any and all details regarding any school activity. Additionally, any attempt by a school district employee to withhold information to parents is ground for serious discipline.

The discovery led to an immense backlash in the community and social media and it forced the school to change the rules.

The school isn’t out of hot water because Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is launching a probe.
