Bill Maher is a liberal. He makes no pretenses about it, nor does he make any excuses for his political beliefs. However, and especially over the last year or so, Maher has breathed a breath of fresh air into bipartisan politics.
Maher has actually called out the radical side of his liberal Democrat Party on multiple occasions. Most recently, he did so in an interview with a staunch conservative, Ben Shapiro. Shapiro and Maher, while politically 180 degrees apart on many issues, engaged in refreshing discourse.
The two men sat down for an hour-long conversation. Shapiro is editor emeritus of the Daily Wire. Maher was going over some poll numbers he got from the radically liberal New York Times. The poll was asked to equate COVID-19 vaccinations with hospitalizations.
According to more than 40 percent of Democrats, unvaccinated people had a 50/50 chance of being hospitalized if they caught the virus. The true figure is somewhere between 1 percent and 5 percent.
That’s not just a little off; that’s far beyond any realistic margin of error. Maher believes it’s all because of the overabundance of misinformation about the pandemic. “There’s a lot of bad information on both sides,” Maher insisted.
Maher went on to say, “Liberals didn’t like it when I pointed out that some 41 percent of Democrats, when asked the question, how many people who get COVID need to be hospitalized, thought it was over 50 percent, when it was, of course, around 1 percent.”
Both men agreed that it was just insane for the numbers to be that far off. Maher, sort of a member of the left-wing media, went on to chastise those within his political ideology. “The left-wing media should answer for that,” he demanded.
By and large, the conversation was an extremely productive back-and-forth. The two bickered somewhat over climate change. Maher insisted that the right-wing media should bear some responsibility for misinformation on that important problem facing the world.
But the real takeaway from the discussion of the polling was how much of a disparity there was between what liberals believed and what was true. This is relatively simple to explain. The liberal mainstream media has been carrying the left’s pandemic narrative.
Liberal Democrats want to push for masks on everyone, lockdowns, and especially forced vaccinations. The best way to achieve their corrupt ends is to lie about the pandemic’s seriousness. They have. Now, when you look at the numbers within their own political spectrum, it’s obvious.
